Greater Orlando Aviation Authority Thanks Small Businesses During National Small Business Week
ORLANDO, FL. – Small Business Week 2022 is a great time to say “Thank You” to the hundreds of small businesses that have helped to build Orlando International Airport over the years.
“None of our success would have been even remotely possible if it were not for the contributions of our small business community,” says Kevin Thibault, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA). “As the CEO of GOAA, it is my responsibility to continue building on this heritage and tradition.”
GOAA board Chairman Carson Good, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings recorded greetings for the more than 100 participants and noted the importance of small business on the economic vitality of the overall Central Florida region.
Small businesses impact on the development and construction of Terminal C by the numbers:
- Over $579 million were awarded to small businesses
- Those dollars helped create over 6000 local jobs
- Approximately $900 million in total economic output; generating $27 million in tax revenue
Some of the most heavily impacted business sectors in Central Florida are:
- Construction
- Wholesale trade
- Real estate
- Architectural, engineering and related services
- Truck transportation
- Hospitals
- Insurance carriers
- Interior design
- Concessions
- Limited-services restaurants
