Passenger Traffic Continues to Climb at Orlando International Airport
ORLANDO, FL – Passenger traffic continues to rebound at Orlando International Airport (MCO) with February traffic slightly surpassing passenger totals in January. More than 3.6 million passengers traveled through Florida’s busiest airport in February, bringing 2022 calendar year passenger counts to 7.1 million.
Leading the increase in February, Speed Weeks competitions in Central Florida and the unofficial start of the Spring Break travel season.
Also contributing to the welcomed news, Air Transat resumed service to Halifax, Nova Scotia; Quebec City, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario while Frontier added new service to Ft. Lauderdale.
February Statistical Data:
- For the month, domestic traffic climbed more than 72 percent over 2021 with some 3,360,202 passengers traveling through MCO.
- International traffic was up 628 percent when compared to 2021 with a total of 278,266 passengers arriving and departing.
- Combined traffic rose almost 83 percent with 3,638,468 passengers at MCO when compared to February 2021.
