Job Fair With A Twist Airport Rental Car Matchmaker Event
ORLANDO, FL. – Call it a new take on the traditional job fair. Instead of potential employees meeting with businesses looking to hire, this time there were nearly 100 local small businesses meeting with large national and globally known rental car companies fostering partnerships.
For the first time since the pandemic, the major rental car agencies at Orlando International Airport (MCO) were looking for local suppliers to provide them with goods and services, including everything from key fobs and tires to detailing, cleaning supplies and fleet maintenance. MCO’s Rental Car companies spend over $100 million annually on goods and services for their airport operations.
“Assisting in the connection of two vital parts of our local economy, rental car companies and local small businesses, is a great opportunity for all involved to share in potential economic gains in our community,” says Yovannie Rodriguez, Chief Administrative Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
The Small Business Department of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority facilitated a matchmaker event between Enterprise, Alamo, National, Sixt, Avis, Budget, Payless, Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty rental car companies and any local small business that expressed an interest in the opportunity to meet with and provide goods or services for the rental car companies.
