On Monday, October 25, the Biden administration announced updated regulations for Americans and international visitors traveling into the United States. Beginning November 8, fully-vaccinated international travelers are allowed to enter the United States with limited exceptions to those requirements. The guidelines will be enforced by the airlines travelers are flying with. We’re pleased to see a way has been found to reopen our nation’s borders, allowing the Central Florida region to welcome back some international passengers we haven’t seen since March 2020. – Greater Orlando Aviation Authority

Guidelines for U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents

• Unvaccinated travelers need to provide a negative test (PCR or antigen) taken within one day of traveling.
• Vaccinated travelers need to present vaccine documentation and a negative test taken within three days of travel.
• Fully vaccinated Americans unable to show proof of vaccination are subject to the one-day testing requirement.

Guidelines for International Visitors

• Required to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination status prior to boarding an airplane to fly to the United States.
• If you are fully vaccinated then it’s within 3 days before travel. If you are not fully vaccinated, then the result must be taken no more than 1 day before travel.
• Approved vaccinations are those authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization.
• Children under age 18 and travelers from countries with less than a 10% vaccination rate (due to lack of vaccine availability) are exempt from the vaccination requirement.
  • These travelers are required to show a negative test within one day of travel.
  • Children under age 2 will not need to test for COVID-19.
• Travelers with some medical conditions, including people who have had severe anaphylactic reactions to the COVID vaccine, are exempt from the vaccination requirement. To include presenting documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the last 90 days

Airline Requirements

• Match the name and date of birth to confirm the passenger is the same person reflected on the proof of vaccination.
• Determine that the record was issued by an official source (e.g., public health agency, government agency) in the country where the vaccine was given.
• Review the essential information to determine if the passenger meets CDC’s definition for fully vaccinated.
• Collect contact information that will allow public health officials to follow up with inbound air travelers who are potentially infected or have been exposed to someone who is infected.
