ORLANDO, FL. – The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) continues to monitor the development of Tropical Storm Nicole and its impact on airport operations. Airport officials, in coordination with airline partners, announced on Tuesday that Orlando International Airport will cease all commercial operations today at 4 p.m.

Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) will cease operations beginning at 4:00 p.m. or when conditions at the airport are deemed to be unsafe, whichever comes first. Tenants are being reminded that there will be no access to the airfield after 4:00 p.m. Fixed Base Operators and other airport tenants will follow ORL’s closure schedule.

The GOAA Emergency Operations Center has been activated. Aviation Authority personnel will remain in contact with the airlines and other partners to monitor the storm’s progression over the next 24 hours to best judge when the situation will permit operations to resume at both MCO and ORL.
