November Reports Show Travel Kept Its Upward Climb at Orlando International Airport

ORLANDO, FL. – Building upon the record travel year at Orlando International Airport (MCO), November saw double-digit growth in passenger numbers across the board.

“Our continued double-digit growth in both international and domestic travel is exceptional and is a credit to our community support and the excellent work of our airport personnel,” says Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “We are now moving more passengers through our facilities than at any point in the airport ‘s history and therefore it is important that we continue to meet the demand by developing facilities that can accommodate our passengers efficiently with a high level of customer service.”

Contributing to the robust November numbers was a very strong Thanksgiving holiday travel season. Traffic during the 13-day holiday travel period jumped more than 5 percent over the previous Thanksgiving holiday making Orlando International Airport the seventh busiest airport in the country and busiest in Florida according to

November Statistical Data:

  • Domestic travel increased 12.21 percent with 2,852,633 passengers moving through MCO
  • International traffic climbed 17.1 percent for the month with 402,177 passengers
  • Overall traffic was up 12.79 percent in November with 3,254,810 passengers at Orlando International
  • On a rolling 12-month period traffic at Orlando International Airport is up 8.2 percent with a record 38,461,712 passengers from November of 2014 through November of 2015
  • Flight operations at Orlando Executive Airport were up 28 percent in November
